Piglet at 14 months

This month has been filled with walking walking walking. He loves walking up and down the apartment and climbing up onto places that he shouldn't be climbing. He's pretty good at walking with shoes now. We've also had to do some serious de-cluttering, and given that we haven't got much storage space, it's becoming quite a challenge.

His favorite activity lately has been biting on pillow corners. My poor silk cushions on my sofa are all frayed on the corners, and my bed pillow smells like rotten milk. Yes, unfortunately, we are are still co-sleeping, but we have tried to move him to his own bed. We've decided to get him a toddler bed - maybe he just doesn't like to be confined. Meanwhile, Herb and I hope to stop alternating nights on the living room sofa.

He's also been super cute lately by hugging and snuggling with his stuffed animals. He's starting to cuddle with us too by burying his head into us - mostly to signal that he's tired. When he's playing, he sings to himself ("butcha butcha butcha butchaaaaaaaah"), but we're not sure where he picked that up from. No words yet, but we're not worried. He definitely understands commands, like turn on the light, kiss kiss, give it to mommy, close the gate/door/drawer, and put it back. One thing to note is that he understands them in English - still working on Chinese though.

We've been eating more new foods, mainly peanut butter and oranges. I think the next big hurdle will be seafood. If he's not allergic to that, then we're pretty okay for the most part. Still finishing up the formula that I stocked up on while in the States, and since he's been holding his bottle, I haven't given them up yet. He still coughs a bit when he drinks from his sippy cup, but he is learning how to sip from a straw.
